Regular school attendance is a vital component of academic success and personal growth. At McFarland High School, we believe that every day a student spends in the classroom is an investment in their future.

Our attendance policy is designed to foster accountability, consistency, and a strong work ethic. We partner with families to ensure every student arrives on time, fully prepared to learn, participate, and thrive in our vibrant school community.

Daily Schedule & Deadlines

• School Start Time: 7:40 a.m.
  
• Tardy Threshold: Students arriving after 7:40 a.m. must check in at the front office.
  
• Absence Notification: Parents/guardians must report all absences within 48 hours.

How to Report an Absence

Please use one of the following official methods to notify the attendance office of an absence.

• ParentSquare App: Send a message to the attendance clerk, Violeta Murguia
  
• Phone Call: Call the attendance office at 661-792-3126, ext.2201 and leave a detailed message with your child’s name, grade, and reason for the absence.
  
• Written Note: Have your student bring a signed doctor’s note or parental excuse to the main office upon their return.
