Support Our School

We take pride in knowing McFarland students are actively involved in the community and that our parents support our efforts at school. Find out how you can be a part below.

English Learner Advisory Committee

We invite parents and community members advocating for students who are learning English to join our English Learner Advisory Committee. The ELAC works closely with school leadership to provide input on programs, services, and resources that help English learners succeed. Our committee also supports awareness about the importance of regular school attendance and provides feedback on McFarland’s academic improvement plan.

Learn more about state requirements for ELACs on California’s Department of Education website. To learn more about joining our ELAC, please contact one of our student affairs specialists.

Parents in the Classroom

Parents are always welcome to visit our school or observe their student’s classroom(s). To help us coordinate your visit and maintain a safe learning environment, please submit a written request at least 24 hours in advance. All visits must be approved before arrival.

School Site Council

The school site council is a team of parents, teachers, and students who work with our principal to support student success. The SSC reviews MHS’s academic programs and budgets, and helps develop and evaluate academic improvement plans as needed.

Though each monthly meeting is open to the public, SSC members are selected by their peers as representatives to ensure each council reflects the voices of their community.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Principal Diaz.
